Platinum Prince
Princecraft's 190 tough enough for big water
Offering a pair of brand new fishing crafts for the millennium, Quebec-based Princecraft believes their popular Super-Pro series will be one of the company's most sought-after premium fishing boat lines.
Replacing the old Platinum 196, Princecraft's new Platinum 210 measures 20 feet, 10 inches long and 100 inches wide. Replacing the Platinum 180, the new Platinum 190 stretches 18 feet, 4 inches in length and a broad 94 inches wide at the beam. Both top-of-the-line boats sport new wide-beam hulls and fully molded automotive-style interiors.
New for 2000, the wider, longer hulls feature Princecraft's proven Ultra-Vee Pro reverse-chine design that incorporates a beamy, deep V shape that will give them the ability to tackle big-water conditions faced by Great Lakes walleye anglers and others who frequent large, open waters. The new Platinum models offer anglers the deepest motor wells in their class, an added measure of security in following seas, as well as additional clearance aft while fishing. The increased hull size allows for more storage space aboard both Super Pros, an important feature for accessory-laden walleye anglers.
Both boats' helm stations feature full Faria spun silver-domed instrumentation, a Lowrance X-28 sonar and an AM/FM/cassette stereo set in wood grain, automotive-style dashboards that are as clean-looking as they are practical.
Bow and stern casting decks on the new Platinum 210 and 190 models feature 40-gallon and 29-gallon ProFlo livewell systems with timers and removable minnow buckets, respectively. Insulated lids with anti-spill seals keep the catch cool and assure that fish remain alive and kicking in plenty of water.
Both Platinum models feature lockable storage for 7-foot fishing rods and built-in, flush-mount waterproof tackle storage. Accommodations for anglers include three high-back, folding pedestal seats supported by premium Attwood pedestal components, which can be placed among six pedestal bases built into the Princecrafts' casting decks and cockpit floor. Two of the pedestal bases are aft of the twin consoles, topped with a walk-through, wrap-around windshield of tempered glass.
Power options for the new Princecrafts include Johnson or Evinrude outboards — including OMC's new Ficht Ram Injection technology — up to 175 horsepower for the Super-Pro 190 and 225 horsepower for the 210 model. Both models are constructed of 5052-H36 marine-grade aluminum alloy and come complete with a custom Princecraft trailer, which feature custom molded composite fenders.
